**”Landman” Takes Over Jacksboro, Texas for Odessa Stand-In**

JACKSBORO, TX – August 2, 2024 – The Paramount+ series “Landman,” starring Billy Bob Thornton, has set up shop in Jacksboro, Texas, transforming the small town into a fictionalized version of Odessa for filming. The show, created by Taylor Sheridan, known for “Yellowstone,” is currently filming its second season, which is expected to premiere in November.

Crews were spotted in Jacksboro on Wednesday unloading Odessa Police Department vehicles and altering the signage on the Jacksboro Police Department to reflect its fictional Odessa counterpart. Highway 380 through the downtown area was closed for the day as filming took place, with locals reporting sightings of Billy Bob Thornton on set.

This isn’t the first time “Landman” has filmed in North Texas. Recent shoots have taken place in Fort Worth, including downtown streets and the historic Worthington Hotel. Sheridan, a Fort Worth native, is known for bringing productions to the area, much like he did with “Yellowstone,” which filmed some scenes in North Texas despite its Montana setting. The new season is expected to air on Paramount+ in November of this year.
