**Spike in Violence: Nine Palestinians Killed in West Bank in One Week Amid Rising Settler Attacks and Israeli Raids**
West Bank – The occupied West Bank has witnessed a surge in violence this past week, with nine Palestinians, including one child and an American citizen, killed by Israeli settlers and forces. This comes as the ongoing conflict in Gaza continues, and attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank have reportedly intensified.
According to Shireen.ps, a database compiled by Palestinian journalists, 177 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank this year alone.
Among the deceased is 20-year-old American Palestinian Sayfollah Musallet, who died after allegedly being beaten by Israeli settlers in an attack his family claims lasted for three hours, with medics reportedly prevented from reaching him.
Other Palestinians killed in the past week include:
* Wissam Ghassan Ishtiyeh, killed during an Israeli raid on Salem, east of Nablus. His body is allegedly being withheld by Israeli authorities.
* Qusay Nasser Nassar, also killed in Salem during the same raid.
* Ahmad Nafeth Al-Awiwi, who succumbed to injuries sustained during an Israeli raid in Hebron six months ago.
* A young boy, Shalakhti, who died from wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli forces in the Askar al-Jadid camp in Nablus.
* Ahmad Ali Al-Amour, who local sources say was shot and run over by an Israeli military vehicle in Rummana, west of Jenin. Israeli authorities claim he was attempting a suicide attack and are holding his body.
* Mahmoud Youssef Mohamed Abed and Malik Ismail Abdul Jabbar Salem, who were shot dead in the Gush Etzion settlement after allegedly carrying out a stabbing and shooting attack that killed one Israeli settler. Their bodies are being detained.
* Muhammad Rizq al-Shalabi, who was found dead after a settler attack on Sinjil, north of Ramallah. He allegedly showed signs of torture and severe beating.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has stated that Israeli authorities are withholding the bodies of some of those killed.
The municipality of Sinjil condemned the killings of Musallet and al-Shalabi, saying it “will only increase our adherence to our land and our determination to defend it by all legitimate means”.
