**Katie Taylor Secures Victory over Amanda Serrano in Trilogy Finale at Madison Square Garden**

**NEW YORK** – Katie Taylor emerged victorious in a majority decision against Amanda Serrano, capping off a historic all-women’s fight card at Madison Square Garden in front of a sold-out crowd of 19,721 fans. The fight, streamed live on Netflix, concluded their highly anticipated trilogy for Taylor’s undisputed super lightweight championship.

Unlike their previous two closely contested bouts, this fight saw Taylor employing a more calculated strategy, utilizing her footwork and check hook to secure a more decisive win. Two judges scored the fight 97-93 in favor of Taylor, while the third saw it even at 95-95.

“I was obviously planning to come in here and fight a disciplined match,” said Taylor. “I was planning to do it the first two times as well, but it didn’t work out like that. Thankfully I was able to execute my game plan very well, move my feet and not let her get set on her feet.”

While both fighters landed 70 punches each, the fight’s subdued pace contrasted sharply with their previous encounters, where punch counts were significantly higher.

Despite the loss, Serrano acknowledged her attempts to adapt her strategy. “We tried something different,” she said. “It was all about working smarter, not harder. I tried to keep my distance and tried not to go in there and fight with her because, apparently, it didn’t work in the first two fights. We tried to just stick with the long punches, the one two, and I guess it just wasn’t enough.”

Serrano also emphasized the broader impact of their rivalry on women’s boxing. “[We proved] the women can fight, we can sell, and we look good doing it,” she said.

In the co-main event, Alycia Baumgardner successfully defended her undisputed super featherweight title with a unanimous decision over Jennifer Miranda. Baumgardner (16-1, 7 KOs 1 No Contest) showed her dominance to retain with scores of 98-92, 98-92 and 97-93. Baumgardner acknowledged some rustiness due to a long layoff but expressed her desire to return to the ring soon.

With the trilogy concluded, the future remains uncertain for both Taylor and Serrano. While Taylor has stated her reluctance to face Serrano again, the impact of their rivalry on elevating women’s boxing is undeniable.
