Sun Jul 13 16:10:00 UTC 2025: **Swiatek Stuns Anisimova with Dominant Display to Claim First Wimbledon Title**

**WIMBLEDON, England** – In a stunning display of dominance, Iga Swiatek of Poland crushed American Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 on Centre Court Saturday to capture her first Wimbledon title and sixth major championship. The 24-year-old was visibly emotional after the victory, admitting she was in disbelief at her achievement.

Swiatek, the No. 8 seed, needed just 57 minutes to secure the win, becoming the first Polish woman to ever lift the Venus Rosewater Dish. The match marked only the third time in women’s major final history, and the second in the Open era, that a “double bagel” scoreline (6-0, 6-0) has occurred.

This victory is a significant milestone for Swiatek, a four-time French Open champion and 2022 US Open winner who had previously struggled on grass. She is now only the eighth woman in history to win a major title on all three surfaces (clay, grass, hard).

“It’s pretty surreal,” Swiatek said, noting that she is the eighth consecutive first-time women’s champion at Wimbledon. “I’m just proud of myself because … who would have expected that?”

Anisimova, seeded 13th, acknowledged Swiatek’s exceptional performance. “She came out playing very, very well… she deserves this win.”

Swiatek’s victory marks her 100th major match win in her 120th career match, making her the fastest woman to reach this milestone since Serena Williams. It also improves her record to 6-0 in major finals, tying Monica Seles for the second-longest win streak to start a career in the Open era, after Roger Federer (7-0).

This win is particularly meaningful for Swiatek as it comes after a challenging year. After spending most of 2022, 2023 and 2024 at No. 1 in the WTA rankings and suffering an unexpected defeat at the French Open, she has now returned to form in a spectacular fashion.
