**Veteran Telugu Actor Kota Srinivasa Rao Passes Away at 83**
**Hyderabad, India – July 13, 2025, 6:52 AM** – The Telugu film industry is in mourning following the death of veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, who passed away early Sunday morning at his residence in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. He was 83 years old.
Rao had been suffering from age-related health issues for some time. Though he had trouble walking in his later years, he continued to act until recently, with his last film being “Suvarna Sundari” released in 2023.
Kota Srinivasa Rao had a prolific career spanning over four decades, during which he portrayed a diverse range of characters in over 750 films across Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema. Born on July 10, 1942, in Kankipadu, Krishna District, he initially pursued a career in banking after graduating but ultimately followed his passion for acting, which began during his student days.
Renowned for his unique style and ability to embody his roles, Rao was celebrated for his versatility in portraying both comedic and villainous characters. Notable performances include his roles in “Aha Naa Pellanta” and “Ganesh.”
