**New York, NY** – Goldman Sachs Group Inc. announced today that former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has returned to the firm as a senior advisor. Sunak, who served as prime minister from October 2022 to July 2024, will provide his expertise on the global macroeconomic and geopolitical landscape to Goldman Sachs clients worldwide.
“Rishi brings invaluable experience and insights to our firm,” said Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon in a statement. “His unique perspective on the global economy will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”
Sunak’s career began at Goldman Sachs, where he worked as a summer intern in 2000 and later as an analyst from 2001 to 2004. He subsequently co-founded an investment firm before entering politics in 2015 as a Member of Parliament. His rapid rise in British politics saw him serve as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2020 to 2022, before becoming Prime Minister.
Despite leading the Conservative Party to a significant defeat in the recent general election, Sunak remains a Member of Parliament for Richmond and Northallerton and has committed to serving his full term. His return to Goldman Sachs signifies a new chapter in his post-premiership career.
