HYDERABAD, TELANGANA – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) in Hyderabad has partnered with the Retail Sector Skill Council of India (RASCI) to launch a ‘Stipend Based Apprenticeship Programme (SAP)’ on Monday, July 7, 2025. The initiative, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to empower students and graduates with practical skills and financial independence.

Under the agreement, students aged 18 to 28, including BRAOU alumni, will be eligible to participate in the program. Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹7,000 to ₹24,000.

RASCI Executive Director James Raphael stated that the program is designed around the “Four-Is” concept – Individual, Institution, Industry, and India – blending academic theory with practical, professional experience. He emphasized the program’s commitment to ensuring financial independence and empowerment for all participating students.

The MoU was signed by BRAOU Registrar L. Vijaya Krishna Reddy and James Raphael, with Vice-Chancellor Ghanta Chakrapani in attendance.
