**Namakkal RTO and Wife Die by Suicide After Family Dispute**

**Namakkal, India – July 6, 2025** – A Regional Transport Officer (RTO) and his wife were found dead near a railway track in Vagurampatti, Namakkal, on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Police identified the deceased as K. Subramanian, 57, the RTO of Tiruchi district, and his wife Pramila, 55, a teacher at Panchayat Union School in Andalpuram.

According to preliminary investigations, the couple reportedly took their own lives following a family dispute over their daughter’s marriage proposal. The couple argued with their daughter until late Saturday night regarding the proposal. They left their Kalaivani Nagar home early Sunday morning on a two-wheeler, and their bodies were subsequently discovered.

The Salem Railway police retrieved the bodies and transported them to Namakkal Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Subramanian and Pramila are survived by their daughter, 25, and their son, 23.

A case has been registered, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
