**PM Modi Begins Four-Day Brazil Visit for BRICS Summit, Bilateral Talks**

**Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – July 6, 2025** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rio de Janeiro Saturday evening to kick off a four-day visit to Brazil, marked by participation in the BRICS Summit and a subsequent state visit to Brasilia. This marks the fourth leg of a five-nation tour for the Prime Minister.

Modi was welcomed with a ceremonial reception at Galeao International Airport, expressing his hopes for “a productive round of meetings and interactions” in a post on X.

The visit follows a productive stop in Argentina where Modi held talks with President Javier Milei, focusing on diversifying trade and strengthening cooperation in key sectors including defence, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, energy, and mining.

Following the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Brasilia for a state visit. This visit marks a significant milestone, being the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Brazil in nearly six decades. The visit underscores the growing importance of India-Brazil relations in the global landscape.
