Sun Jul 06 14:10:00 UTC 2025: ## McDonald’s Heats Up Breakfast with Spicy McMuffin for Limited Time

**Chicago, IL** – McDonald’s is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Egg McMuffin with a fiery new twist: the Spicy McMuffin. Starting July 8th, participating locations nationwide will offer three versions of the breakfast sandwich featuring the chain’s signature Spicy Pepper Sauce.

This marks the first time the Spicy Pepper Sauce, previously used on McDonald’s spicy chicken sandwiches, will be featured on the breakfast menu. The Spicy McMuffin will be available in Spicy Egg McMuffin, Spicy Sausage McMuffin, and Spicy Sausage McMuffin with Egg variations, each featuring a freshly cracked (and now 100% cage-free) egg, melted cheese, and Canadian bacon or sausage, all topped with the smoky, pepper-forward sauce.

The launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Egg McMuffin, which first debuted nationally in 1975 after being conceived by a Santa Barbara franchisee in 1971.

“Breakfast isn’t just a meal; it’s a cherished tradition and cornerstone of our brand,” said Joe Erlinger, McDonald’s USA president, in a February announcement.

The introduction of the Spicy McMuffin reflects a growing trend of consumers craving bolder flavors in their morning meals. Social media is already buzzing about the new offering, with foodies expressing their excitement and sharing creative menu hack ideas.

While McDonald’s hasn’t officially confirmed, some reports suggest customers may be able to add the Spicy Pepper Sauce to other breakfast items upon request.

However, like most limited-time offerings, the Spicy McMuffin won’t be around forever, so fans are encouraged to grab one while they can.
