**Bengaluru, July 6, 2025:** The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) celebrated its 25th convocation on Sunday, marking a significant milestone with an Integrated M.Tech (iMTech) student securing a record-breaking annual package of ₹1.45 crore. This achievement is the highest ever recorded in the institute’s history, as announced during the ceremony where 372 students graduated across various programs.
The impressive placement season saw a significant number of graduates receiving high-value offers, with 14 students securing packages exceeding ₹60 lakh, 67 above ₹40 lakh, and over 180 above ₹20 lakh per annum.
Beyond academic success, IIIT-B is increasingly recognized for its global contributions to Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). Director Prof. Debabrata Das highlighted the institute’s leading role through the Centre for Digital Public Infrastructure (CDPI), which operates in 60 countries. A flagship project, MOSIP (Modular Open Source Identity Platform), has already issued over 136 million digital IDs across 27 nations and is projected to reach one billion people within three years.
“MOSIP is a homegrown product from India to the world,” Prof. Das stated, emphasizing its mission to develop ethical and scalable digital solutions. Building on MOSIP’s success, the institute has launched INJI, a next-generation, privacy-centric data exchange platform already adopted by four countries.
IIIT-B’s DPI initiatives extend to projects like OpenG2P and COSS, backed by organizations like the Gates Foundation and NORAD, aimed at fostering policy innovation and societal transformation. The institute is also actively involved in projects like the Tele-MANAS mental health programme in collaboration with NIMHANS, the AI for Inclusion (A4I) initiative with Microsoft Philanthropies, and advanced telecom R&D through the COMET Foundation.
In recognition of its commitment to sustainability, IIIT-B received the International Green University Award for the third consecutive year. The governing body has also approved ₹817 crore for the construction of a new East Campus over the next seven years.
