**NAGERCOIL, July 5, 2025** – A 26-year-old woman, R. Jebila Mary, from Melmidalam, Nagercoil, was found dead in her home on Friday, July 4th, in what appears to be a suicide. Her husband, Mariya Nithinraj, discovered her unresponsive after she failed to answer his calls and he broke down the door to her room.
Mariya Nithinraj and his mother rushed her to a private hospital in Karungal, where she was pronounced dead. The body has been transferred to Government Medical College in Asaripallam for a post-mortem examination.
Police confirmed a suicide note was recovered at the scene. “Preliminary post mortem reports show no suspicions in her death, however, samples have been sent for chemical analysis for further investigation,” an official stated.
