**Hyderabad, India – July 3, 2025** – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm alert for 18 districts in Telangana, including the state capital, Hyderabad, for Friday. The alert, released on Thursday at 2 p.m., warns of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated locations across Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad and Sangareddy districts.

In addition to the thunderstorm threat, the IMD bulletin also indicates strong surface winds are likely to prevail across all 33 districts of Telangana.

For Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the forecast for the next 24 hours predicts generally cloudy skies. “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with strong surface winds are very likely to occur in the city,” the IMD stated. Hazy conditions are also expected during the morning hours. The maximum temperature is projected to be around 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to be 23 degrees Celsius.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions during the expected thunderstorms and strong winds.
