**Mahindra Enters Australian SUV Market with Affordable XUV 3XO**

**Melbourne, Australia** – Indian automotive manufacturer Mahindra has launched its XUV 3XO sub-4-meter SUV in Australia, aiming to gain a foothold in the competitive small SUV segment. The XUV 3XO will directly challenge established players like the Chery Tiggo 4, Mazda CX-3, MG ZS, Kia Stonic, and Hyundai Venue.

The XUV 3XO is available in two trim levels, AX5L and AX7L, with exterior styling mirroring the India-spec model. Key design features include distinctive C-shaped LED DRLs, a bold front grille, and eye-catching Infinity tail lamps. The AX5L comes equipped with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the AX7L boasts larger 17-inch wheels.

Color options for the AX5L include Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Stealth Black, and Tango Red. The AX7L offers the same palette, replacing Stealth Black with an exclusive Citrine Yellow.

Both variants offer a range of premium features, including a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, and electrically foldable ORVMs.

The top-tier AX7L model adds exclusive features such as a skyroof, black leatherette seats, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, soft-touch leatherette on the dashboard and door trims, a cooled glove box, a 65-watt USB Type-C charging port, and a 360° surround-view system with a blind-view monitor. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, including auto emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition, are also available on the AX7L.

For the Australian market, the XUV 3XO is powered by a 1.2-litre mStallion turbocharged multipoint fuel injection (TCMPFi) engine, producing 110 hp and 200 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The XUV 3XO is being introduced at a special drive-away price of AUD 23,490 (approximately USD 15,500) for the AX5L and AUD 26,490 (approximately USD 17,500) for the AX7L. These prices, which include all on-road costs such as tax and registration, are valid until August 31st, 2024. From September 2024, prices will increase by AUD 500 for both variants.

Mahindra is positioning the XUV 3XO as one of the most affordable SUVs in Australia. Competitor models like the Chery Tiggo 4 (Urban) are priced from AUD 23,990, the MG ZS from AUD 25,990, and the Kia Stonic and Hyundai Venue automatic variants from AUD 28,290 and AUD 27,990, respectively.

The XUV 3XO is being exported to Australia as fully-built units. Mahindra is also developing an electric version of the XUV 3XO, expected to launch later this year.
