Belagavi, July 5, 2025 – A house in Belagavi collapsed on Saturday due to heavy rainfall, although no injuries were reported. The residence, located in Patil Mala and belonging to Ramachandra Gandhi, was built around 1940. Leaking roofs and weakened walls are cited as the cause of the collapse. The owners, who had already vacated the premises due to safety concerns, estimate damages to be in the lakhs of rupees. City Corporation of Belagavi officials and revenue officers have inspected the site.

Meanwhile, water release from Maharashtra has increased by approximately five percent, reaching 1.04 lakh cusecs. Inflow into the Lal Bahadur Shastri reservoir on the Krishna River in Almatti reached 1.02 lakh cusecs, with an outflow of 1,00,670 cusecs. The reservoir currently holds 87.73 tmcft, representing 71.2% of its full capacity.

The Raja Lakhamagouda reservoir on the Ghataprabha River in Hidkal holds 37.03 tmcft of water, compared to its full capacity of 51 tmcft. Inflow stands at 23,105 cusecs, while outflow is at 1,457 cusecs. The Renuka Sagar dam on the Malaprabha River has an inflow of 9,197 cusecs and an outflow of 194 cusecs, holding 20.85 tmcft against its full level of 37 tmcft.
