**Thanjavur Home Hit by Brazen Daytime Burglary, Valuable Jewelry and Cash Stolen**

**THANJAVUR, July 5, 2025** – Police in Thanjavur are investigating a housebreak and theft that occurred on Friday, July 5th, at the residence of Jayakumar, a local hotel owner. The incident took place at his home in Rejina Nagar, near the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital.

According to police reports, Mr. Jayakumar, 49, discovered the crime when he returned home for lunch around 3:00 PM. His wife, Suganya, a laboratory assistant at a government school, was at work, and their children were at school. He found the back door forced open and a steel cupboard ransacked.

Mr. Jayakumar reported that approximately 50 sovereigns of gold jewelry and ₹5 lakh in cash were missing. The Thanjavur Medical College police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident.
