**Severe Thunderstorm Threat Looms Over New Hampshire Ahead of Fourth of July**

Concord, NH – New Hampshire residents are urged to stay weather-aware today as a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect statewide until 6 p.m. Earlier, two severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for northern parts of the state as a line of storms moved across the region. While the warning area no longer includes New Hampshire, meteorologists caution that more storms could develop throughout the afternoon and early evening, bringing the potential for strong wind gusts, lightning, heavy downpours, and hail.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a “slight risk” for severe weather across New Hampshire.

The storms are expected to subside after sunset, clearing the way for Fourth of July fireworks displays scheduled for tonight. The humidity will decrease late Thursday, with temperatures dipping into the 50s and low 60s by Friday morning.

The Fourth of July holiday on Friday is forecast to be sunny and cooler, with highs in the 70s and significantly lower humidity, making for a comfortable celebration. An isolated rain shower is possible in the far north, but most areas will remain dry. Fireworks displays should benefit from clearing skies and temperatures in the low 70s.

The pleasant weather continues into the weekend, with full sunshine and highs in the 80s on Saturday. However, residents should prepare for a return to hot and humid conditions on Sunday, with temperatures potentially reaching the 90s.

Authorities urge residents to stay informed by downloading the free WMUR app for Apple or Android devices and enabling push notifications to receive weather alerts specific to their location and selected ZIP codes. The Very Local app also offers storm coverage on smart TVs.
