Fri Jul 04 02:30:00 UTC 2025: **Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reclaims Life After Prison, Addresses Ex-Boyfriend’s Role in Mother’s Murder**
**LOS ANGELES, CA** – One year after her release from prison, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 33, is embarking on a new chapter, focusing on healing, growth, and motherhood. Blanchard served eight years after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the 2015 death of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, a crime committed with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.
In a recent social media post, Blanchard addressed Godejohn’s role, emphasizing that while he may be “deeply disturbed,” he is still accountable for his actions. “Nicholas made the decision to move forward with that night,” she wrote. “That was a choice, and he is not exempt from the consequences of that choice.” Godejohn is currently serving a life sentence for first-degree murder.
Blanchard acknowledged her role in the crime, stating, “When I accepted my sentence, I accepted the weight of my choices. I served my time. That was my accountability.” However, she is now determined to move forward, refusing to carry the weight of Godejohn’s actions.
Since her release in December 2023, Blanchard has experienced significant life changes. She briefly remarried and divorced Ryan Anderson, reconciled with former fiancé Ken Urker, and is now a mother to a 5-month-old daughter, Aurora. She has also been publicly vocal, sharing her story in a Lifetime docuseries, “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,” and a memoir, “My Time to Stand.”
Blanchard, who has accused her mother of Munchausen by proxy, expressed that Godejohn’s sentence was “justice for Dee Dee, as well as myself, who the system failed all my life.” She also extended her “sincerest apologies” to those affected by her actions.
