MAYILADUTHURAI, INDIA – July 4, 2025 – A 32-year-old man, H. Manimaran, was brutally murdered near Mayiladuthurai this afternoon, police confirmed. Manimaran, a resident of Thirunallar in Karaikal district and member of the Tamilaga Vazhvurimai Katchi party, was intercepted while traveling from Mayiladuthurai to Karaikal.
According to authorities, a group of assailants in another vehicle blocked Manimaran’s car near a College under the Sembanarkoil police station around 3:30 p.m. The attackers then attacked Manimaran with sharp weapons, causing his death at the scene. The perpetrators fled immediately after the attack. Manimaran’s body has been sent to Tiruvarur Government Hospital for postmortem examination.
