LOS ANGELES, CA – Laura Laye, a contestant from Topeka, Kansas, experienced a rollercoaster of emotions on a recent episode of “The Price Is Right,” ultimately walking away with a grand total of $53,437.02 in prizes, including a dream vacation to Tulum, Mexico.
Laye started strong, winning a home security system valued at $566 after a tense bidding round. But the real drama unfolded during the “Bullseye” game, where she had the chance to win a six-night trip to Tulum.
The game got off to a rocky start when host Drew Carey momentarily forgot the game’s name. “We’re playing a game called, uh, uh… Bullseye,” Carey stammered, admitting he was initially thinking of “Dartboard.”
The “Bullseye” game requires contestants to select grocery items and quantities to reach a target price range. Laye struggled in her first two attempts, exceeding and falling short of the $10-$12 target. With one final chance, and a helpful tip from an audience member, she wisely chose three anchovy pastes, bringing her total to $11.97, securing the $9,137 trip to Mexico.
Laye’s winning streak continued as she advanced to the Showcase Showdown. Despite a spin of only 65, she bid $27,555 on a showcase featuring a trip to Norway and a 2025 Hyundai Elantra SE. Her opponent went over on their bid, making Laye’s bid closest to the actual retail price of $35,270, winning her both prizes.
Viewers took to social media to celebrate Laye’s remarkable win. “Holy cow, she just scored a big one with a Bullseye win, and she’s going to Tulum!” one YouTube user commented. Several viewers also suggested she bring the audience member who gave her the winning tip on the trip.
“The Price Is Right” airs weekdays on CBS.
