**Kannur, July 3, 2025:** Kannur International Airport (KIAL) successfully completed a comprehensive anti-hijack mock exercise on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The drill, designed to evaluate the airport’s readiness and coordination amongst security agencies in the event of a real hijacking, involved a simulated hijacking scenario aboard an Air India aircraft.
According to a press release, the exercise commenced at approximately 11:20 AM and concluded around noon with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel effectively neutralizing the simulated “hijackers” while safeguarding all passengers and crew.
