Starring Charlize Theron as the leader of a team of immortal warriors, the sequel promises to delve deeper into the characters’ complex relationships and deliver even more intense action sequences.

Ahead of the release, io9 spoke with returning cast members KiKi Layne (Nile), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Copley), and Marwan Kenzari (Joe), as well as franchise newcomer Henry Golding (Tuah), about their experiences bringing the next chapter of the Image Comics adaptation to life.

Layne highlighted Nile’s physical evolution and the thrill of mastering new stunts, while Kenzari emphasized the genuine connection he shares with Luca Marinelli (Nicky), translating their off-screen friendship into the characters’ centuries-old bond. Ejiofor expressed his excitement about Copley becoming more involved in the action, while balancing his humanity. Golding, a fan of the original film, praised the balance between the film’s visceral action and the human aspect of living as an immortal.
