**Phoenix Swelters Under Heat and Dust Advisory, July 4th Relief in Sight**

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – Phoenix residents are bracing for another day of extreme heat and potential dust storms, as the National Weather Service has issued both an Extreme Heat Warning and a Blowing Dust Advisory until 8 p.m. tonight.

The Valley is expected to reach a scorching 113 degrees today, a full 6 degrees above the average high for this time of year. While slightly cooler than yesterday, higher humidity levels could make it feel even hotter. This monsoon moisture is also fueling potential thunderstorms in southern Arizona, with a 20% chance of storms impacting the Phoenix area this afternoon and evening.

The potential for storms also brings the risk of blowing dust and gusty winds, with winds expected to blow from the east at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 35 mph. Residents are advised to take precautions against both the heat and potential dust hazards.

There’s a slightly higher chance of rain and thunderstorms tomorrow, with a 30% chance in the Valley and a high of 108 degrees expected.

However, relief is on the horizon. Drier air is expected to move into the Valley for the July 4th holiday weekend, bringing clearer skies and decreasing the chance of rain. Temperatures are forecast to remain near the average of 107 degrees from Friday through Sunday.
