**Mbappé Returns to Real Madrid Squad, Starts on Bench Against Juventus in Club World Cup**
MIAMI (AP) — Kylian Mbappé made his return to the Real Madrid squad for their Club World Cup Round of 16 match against Juventus on Tuesday, but started the game on the bench. Recovering from a bout of gastroenteritis that sidelined him for the tournament’s group stage, the French superstar was greeted with cheers from the Miami crowd as he warmed up on the rain-soaked pitch at Hard Rock Stadium.
Real Madrid manager Alonso had indicated Mbappé’s potential availability on Monday, following his hospitalization due to the illness. The team managed to top their group with two wins and a draw in Mbappé’s absence.
Mbappé’s return brings much-needed star power to the Club World Cup, especially after Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami was eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain, 4-0, in the round of 16.
Also returning to the squad as substitutes are Dani Carvajal and Éder Militão, both recovered from ACL injuries.
