**Devils Sign Forward Evgenii Dadonov to One-Year Contract**
**NEWARK, NJ – [Date]** – The New Jersey Devils have bolstered their forward ranks by signing veteran Evgenii Dadonov to a one-year contract worth $1,000,000, with the potential for additional performance-based bonuses. The announcement was made today by Devils President and General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.
Dadonov, 36, joins the Devils after spending the past several seasons with the Dallas Stars, following a trade from the Montreal Canadiens in February 2023. During his time in Dallas, he accumulated 78 points (35 goals, 43 assists) in 154 regular-season games. Last season, he tallied 40 points (20 goals, 20 assists) in 80 games, ranking sixth on the Stars’ roster.
“Evgenii brings a wealth of experience and offensive capabilities to our team,” said Fitzgerald. “His ability to contribute at both ends of the ice, along with his playoff experience, will be valuable assets as we look to compete for a championship.”
A native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, Dadonov began his NHL journey with the Florida Panthers in 2009. He has amassed 361 career NHL points (163 goals, 198 assists) in 617 regular-season games, playing for the Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Vegas Golden Knights, Canadiens, and Stars. Dadonov also boasts significant playoff experience, having played in 55 postseason games and reaching the Western Conference Finals three times with Dallas.
Dadonov was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the third round (71st overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft. He has also represented Russia on the international stage at the World Junior Championships.
