**TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) -** A sudden and intense dust storm swept through southern Arizona on Monday evening, June 30th, dramatically reducing visibility and whipping up strong winds.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tucson issued a dust storm warning at approximately 7 p.m., reporting visibility as low as a quarter mile in some areas and wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph. The warning expired at 8:15 p.m.

Looking ahead, 13 News Chief Meteorologist Erin Christiansen forecasts rain for southern Arizona later this week, with Wednesday and Thursday offering the best chance for the first substantial monsoon of 2025.
