**Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Lake County, Illinois**

**LAKE COUNTY, IL -** A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for northeastern Lake County Sunday night as strong storms moved through the area. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the warning, which lasted until 10 p.m. At 9:16 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Wadsworth, moving north at 15 mph.

The NWS warned residents to expect potential damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Meteorologists indicated that wind gusts of up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail were possible.

Earlier severe thunderstorm warnings for southeastern Lake and northern Cook counties were canceled after the storms moved out of those areas.
