Mon Jun 30 18:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Osaka Expo Hits 10 Million Visitors Mark, Exceeding Expectations
**Osaka, Japan – June 29 (Jiji Press)** – The 2025 Osaka World Exposition celebrated a significant milestone Sunday, reaching a total of 10 million visitors, including staff, since its opening on April 13th. A commemorative ceremony was held at the Expo venue to mark the occasion.
Secretary-General Hiroyuki Ishige expressed his delight, noting the faster-than-anticipated growth in visitor numbers. “The number of customers is increasing more and more, at a faster pace than we thought,” he stated during the event.
The lucky 10 millionth visitor was identified as Kazuhiro Asano, a certified public accountant from Yamagata, who was visiting the Expo with his family. Mr. Asano received commemorative gifts, including special passes offering unlimited entry to the Expo throughout the summer.
As of Saturday, the number of general visitors totaled 8.49 million. This, combined with the 1.37 million pavilion staff and press personnel, brought the total close to the 10 million mark.
The Osaka Expo, which began on April 13th and is scheduled to run for six months, is proving to be a major draw, exceeding initial expectations and solidifying its position as a global attraction.
