Tue Jul 01 00:00:00 UTC 2025: **Yankees Bats Explode, Dominate Athletics in 12-5 Victory**

**NEW YORK –** After a quiet offensive performance on Saturday, the New York Yankees erupted on Sunday, defeating the Oakland Athletics 12-5 and securing the series win. Aaron Judge led the charge with two home runs, while Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Cody Bellinger also contributed with long balls.

The Yankees’ bats came alive against former Yankee Luis Severino, marking their highest single-game run total since May 24. Chisholm jumpstarted the offense with a solo home run in the second inning, followed by a bases-clearing triple in the third, driving in three runs. Judge then added to the lead with a two-run homer in the fourth and another solo shot in the seventh. Bellinger capped off the offensive onslaught with a three-run homer in the fifth.

“That’s what it’s about,” Judge said. “Sometimes, you’re going to get beat up, sometimes things aren’t going to go your way. You just have to come out the next day and just go to work.”

Marcus Stroman, making his first start since returning from the injured list, pitched five innings of one-run ball. The Yankees’ offense, which has struggled recently, showed signs of returning to form, giving manager Aaron Boone optimism for the future.

“We’ve got good players,” Boone said. “So far, we’ve been a really good offense. In baseball, you’re going to have little peaks and valleys here and there. Last couple of weeks have been a little tough for us…Today, we were able to get the big hit, hit a couple of balls in the seats. Now, they’re off and running.”
