**Pathan Cheru, Medak, Telangana – June 30, 2025** – A devastating explosion ripped through the Sigachi Chemicals factory in Pashamylaram industrial area of Pathan Cheru Mandal, Sangareddy district, Telangana, this morning, leaving at least 12 dead and over 15 seriously injured. The blast, triggered by a reactor explosion, caused a massive fire that engulfed the facility, trapping workers and sending shockwaves through the local community.

Firefighters are battling to control the blaze, with reports indicating several workers remain trapped inside the burning structure. Rescue efforts are hampered by the intensity of the fire and the structural damage to the factory building, which witnesses say is partially collapsed. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is assisting local authorities in the rescue operation.

“The explosion threw workers into the air,” a first responder reported. “The number of fatalities is feared to rise as the search continues.”

Residents in the vicinity have been evacuated due to thick, acrid smoke emanating from the site. Officials are urging the public to stay away from the area. The industrial building suffered extensive damage, and nearby structures have sustained cracks.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed his grief over the incident and directed officials to ensure immediate rescue and relief efforts. He emphasized the importance of providing the best possible medical care for the injured. Former Minister Harish Rao echoed this sentiment, urging the government to prioritize the well-being of the affected workers.

Ministers Damodara Rajanarsimha and Vivek Venkatswamy, along with Pathan Cheru MLA Mahipal Reddy and other Congress MLAs, have arrived at the scene to oversee the relief operations. Senior police officials, including Multi-Zone IIG Satyanarayana and SP Paritosh Pankaj, are also present.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion. Further details are awaited as authorities continue to assess the situation and manage the aftermath of the tragedy. The factory reportedly employed workers from Odisha and other states, who are being evacuated from the site.
