Mon Jun 30 11:40:00 UTC 2025: **Southeast Michigan Braces for Potential Severe Weather Monday**

**Detroit, MI – June 30, 2025, 6:36 AM EDT -** Southeast Michigan is under a marginal risk (Level 1 out of 5) for severe weather this afternoon and evening, with the greatest threat between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. A warm front moving through this morning will bring warm, humid conditions, with high temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80s and a heat index in the 90s.

The primary concerns are damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and the potential for flooding from heavy downpours associated with showers and thunderstorms expected ahead of an approaching cold front.

According to WDIV’s 4Warn Weather team, led by Emmy award-winning meteorologist Ashlee Baracy, conditions will become more seasonal starting Tuesday, with sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s expected through the week. The Fourth of July is forecast to be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 80s. However, the heat returns on Saturday, bringing with it a chance of rain late in the day. That storm chance continues into Sunday with highs in the low 90s both days.
