Sun Jun 29 16:40:00 UTC 2025: ## PSG Dominates Inter Miami in Club World Cup Rout, Messi Shut Down

**ATLANTA, GA -** Paris Saint-Germain delivered a stunning 4-0 victory over Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, securing their place in the Club World Cup quarterfinals. A dominant performance by the French champions saw two goals from João Neves and a stifling defense that left Messi largely ineffective.

Neves opened the scoring early, heading home a free kick in the 6th minute. He then doubled PSG’s lead in the 39th minute, capitalizing on a beautiful cross from Fabián Ruiz after a well-executed attack. Inter Miami’s hopes of a comeback were dashed before halftime, as an own goal from Tomás Avilés and a goal from Achraf Hakimi extended PSG’s lead to a commanding 4-0.

While Messi was more involved in the second half, his efforts were ultimately fruitless. A header was saved by PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, and a late free kick struck the wall.

“It was an almost perfect match, we created a lot of chances, and I’m happy yet I think we still need to improve, that’s football,” said PSG coach Luis Enrique.

Inter Miami struggled to find their footing throughout the match, with their best chance falling to Luis Suárez early in the second half, only for him to miskick the ball harmlessly.

Despite the loss, Miami coach Javier Mascherano remained optimistic. “I’m very proud of my players. Today you could see the difference in class, but football has given us the chance to compete.”

PSG now advances to the quarterfinals where they will face Bayern Munich after the Bundesliga champions beat Flamengo.
