Mon Jun 30 12:00:00 UTC 2025: **Dodgers Designate Veteran Reliever Luis Garcia for Assignment, Recall Noah Davis**
**Los Angeles, CA – June 29, 2025** – The Los Angeles Dodgers announced today that they have designated veteran right-handed reliever Luis Garcia for assignment. The move clears a roster spot for right-hander Noah Davis, who has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Garcia, 38, is in his 13th major league season, having previously pitched for the Phillies, Angels, Rangers, Cardinals, Padres, and Red Sox. While a durable pitcher with 573 career appearances, Garcia has never been a high-leverage reliever. His career ERA stands at 4.20. Garcia’s performance this season has been underwhelming, posting a 5.27 ERA in 27 1/3 innings.
The Dodgers have one week to trade Garcia or place him on waivers. Given his service time, Garcia could elect free agency if outrighted.
Noah Davis, who struggled with a 7.71 ERA in parts of three seasons with the Colorado Rockies, will take Garcia’s place on the active roster. Davis signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox this off-season and was acquired by the Dodgers just before Opening Day.
In a related move, right-hander Edgardo Henriquez has been activated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A. Henriquez made his major league debut last season, posting a 2.70 ERA in limited action. He will likely be considered for a big league role later in the season after further conditioning in Triple-A.
