Mon Jun 30 00:00:00 UTC 2025: **Detroit Tigers Snap Saturday Slump with Explosive Offensive Performance Against Twins**

**DETROIT** – The Detroit Tigers (52-32) broke an eight-game Saturday losing streak in emphatic fashion, defeating the Minnesota Twins 10-5 at Comerica Park on Saturday. The victory, fueled by a barrage of four home runs in four consecutive innings, sets up a rubber match for Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN.

Right-hander Casey Mize delivered a strong performance, pitching 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out five. He was met with a standing ovation from the Detroit faithful as he exited the game. The only blemish on his outing was a two-run home run by Byron Buxton in the third.

The Tigers’ offense exploded beginning in the third inning when Kerry Carpenter launched a solo home run. Gleyber Torres followed with a two-run shot in the fourth, Riley Greene added another solo blast in the fifth, and Zach McKinstry capped the home run derby with a solo homer in the sixth.

Matt Vierling returned from a rehab assignment and contributed immediately with a sacrifice fly. Wenceel Pérez had a two-run single in the eighth to extend the lead.

The Twins managed a late rally with a two-run home run by Correa in the eighth but couldn’t overcome the Tigers’ dominant offensive showing.

With the win, the Tigers look to secure the series victory behind ace Tarik Skubal in Sunday’s nationally televised game.
