**HOLLYWOOD, CA** – Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is throwing his hat into the ring, joining the ensemble cast of Legendary Entertainment’s upcoming “Street Fighter” movie adaptation. The rapper, actor, and entrepreneur will portray Balrog, the disgraced boxer and bodyguard to the villain, and sources say he is committed to performing his own stunts.

Jackson joins a diverse and impressive lineup that includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Noah Centineo as Ken, and Orville Peck as Vega. Andrew Koji, known for his role in “Warrior,” will star as Ryu, while Joe Anoa’i (WWE’s Roman Reigns) is set to play Akuma, and Callina Liang will take on the role of Chun-Li.

Kitao Sakurai, known for “The Eric Andre Show,” is directing the film, which is set to begin production in August in Australia. Legendary Entertainment is co-developing and co-producing the project alongside Capcom. Plot details remain tightly under wraps.

“Street Fighter,” which originated as an arcade game in 1987, reached widespread popularity with 1991’s “Street Fighter II.” The latest installment, “Street Fighter 6,” released in June 2023, was awarded Best Fighting Game at the 2023 Game Awards.
