According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rishabha Garg, authorities received information early Sunday morning that the school was flooded and students were trapped. Teachers had moved all the students to the rooftop of the submerged building where they spent the night.

Police officers and fire brigade teams immediately rushed to the scene and, with the assistance of local villagers, rescued the students using boats.
