**Chennai, India – June 28, 2025** – Motorists in Chennai should be aware of traffic diversions now in effect near the RBI subway, announced the Greater Chennai City Traffic Police (GCTP) earlier today. The diversions are due to road paving work proposed by Southern Railways on the RBI subway bridge.
The changes, implemented from Sunday, reroute vehicles traveling from Royapuram Bridge and Rajaji Salai towards Kamarajar Salai. These vehicles will be directed via RBI subway service road, North Fort Salai (NFS), Raja Annamalai Mandram, Muthuswamy Salai, Dr. Muthuswamy Bridge, Wallajah Point, Flag Staff Road, and finally, the War Memorial to reach Kamarajar Salai.
Traffic coming from Kamarajar Salai towards Parry’s corner will remain unaffected, continuing to use the RBI subway as usual. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and expect potential delays.
