Fri Jun 27 18:19:01 UTC 2025: **Headline: CPI Leader Urges Andhra Pradesh CM to Address Amaravati Farmer Crisis**
**Vijayawada, India – June 27, 2025** – Communist Party of India (CPI) State Assistant Secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao has issued a strong appeal to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to immediately resolve critical issues facing farmers in the Amaravati capital region. These farmers sacrificed their land for the state’s ambitious capital project.
In a letter released on Friday, Rao emphasized the farmers’ “unmatched sacrifice” and urged Naidu to prioritize the timely disbursement of lease payments, as many are now financially distressed and lack alternative income sources.
Rao further demanded immediate allocation of funds for the development of promised residential and commercial plots, including essential infrastructure. He also stressed the importance of enabling farmers to mortgage their assigned plots to banks for loans, preventing them from being forced to sell at unfair prices during emergencies.
The CPI leader also raised concerns over the high fees charged by private institutions like VIT and SRM in Amaravati, calling for government intervention to regulate fee structures and make education more accessible. He reminded the Chief Minister of promises made in 2015 to the children of the 29 villages in the capital region, demanding the establishment of residential schools and colleges, at least two of them, to provide quality education starting this academic year.
Rao expressed hope that the government would respond positively and swiftly address the concerns of the farming community who supported the state’s vision for Amaravati.
