**Spielberg, Austria – June 28, 2025 -** McLaren has asserted its dominance at the Austrian Grand Prix, with Lando Norris topping the final practice session ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. Norris clocked a blistering 1:04.324, a tenth of a second faster than Piastri, suggesting the Woking-based team are the ones to beat in qualifying.

Reigning World Champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull finished third, but struggled with handling issues and a late spin, potentially limiting his chances in the battle for pole position. Ferrari showed improvement after a difficult Friday, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton securing fourth and fifth respectively, as the team hopes the full floor upgrade will pay dividends.

Mercedes’ George Russell, winner of the previous race in Canada, languished in sixth, almost seven-tenths of a second behind Norris, with teammate Kimi Antonelli close behind.

While Norris showed impressive pace, a mistake on his final flying lap served as a reminder of the pressure he faces to deliver a clean performance in qualifying. Piastri also had a moment, running over the gravel and damaging the floor of his car, requiring temporary repairs.

Despite Verstappen’s apparent lack of raw pace, his proven ability to perform under pressure makes him a constant threat. Further down the order, Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll and Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto continued their strong weekend, raising hopes of a Q3 appearance.
