**CJI Gavai Highlights Ambedkar’s Vision of Unified India at Constitution Park Inauguration**

Nagpur, Maharashtra – Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai emphasized the importance of a unified India under a single constitution, echoing the vision of B.R. Ambedkar, during the inauguration of the Constitution Preamble Park in Nagpur on Saturday. He cited Ambedkar’s belief that one Constitution was essential for national unity and noted that the Supreme Court drew inspiration from this principle when upholding the abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking at the event, where he also unveiled a statue of Ambedkar at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law, CJI Gavai recalled Ambedkar’s response to critics who believed the Constitution provided too much federalism. Ambedkar had asserted that the Constitution would address all challenges and maintain national unity, a point Justice Gavai underscored by contrasting India’s stability with the challenges faced by neighboring countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, also present at the inauguration, lauded Ambedkar’s contributions, stating that freedom, equality, and brotherhood were his invaluable gift to the nation through the Constitution. He emphasized the Constitution’s clear delineation of responsibilities and rights for the executive, judiciary, legislature, and media.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commended CJI Gavai’s performance and highlighted the government’s decision to ensure the Preamble of the Constitution reaches every student, marking the Amrit Mohotsav of the Constitution. He expressed confidence that embracing the values of the Preamble would resolve a significant portion of the country’s problems.
