**Mujarabani Breaks Zimbabwe Record, Fastest to 50 Test Wickets**
**Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – June 28, 2025, 17:04 IST** – Zimbabwe’s pace sensation Blessing Mujarabani etched his name in the history books on the opening day of the first Test against South Africa. Mujarabani surpassed a long-standing record to become the fastest Zimbabwean bowler to reach 50 Test wickets.
In the match currently underway in Bulawayo, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. However, Mujarabani and the Zimbabwean bowling attack quickly put the Proteas under pressure, reducing them to 23 for 3 and later 55 for 4. South African batsmen Tony de Zorzi and David Bedingham were dismissed without scoring.
Mujarabani achieved the milestone in his 18th innings of his 11th Test match, eclipsing the previous record held by Zimbabwean legend Heath Streak, who reached the mark in 20 innings.
Prior to his Test exploits, Mujarabani was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). Although he didn’t feature in any matches, he became the first Zimbabwean player to win an IPL trophy without playing a game.
Mujarabani made his Test debut in 2017 against South Africa. As of today, he has taken 55 wickets in 21 innings across 14 Tests.
