**Mac DeMarco Announces New Album, ‘Guitar,’ Self-Produced and Out August 22nd**

**[City, State] – [Date]** – Canadian musician Mac DeMarco has unveiled his latest project, a new album titled *Guitar*, set to release on August 22nd via Mac’s Record Label. DeMarco took on nearly every aspect of the album’s creation himself, writing, recording, producing, and mixing all the tracks. David Ives handled the mastering.

DeMarco also personally shot all the music videos and cover art, utilizing tripods for a minimalist approach. The video for the lead single, “Home,” is available now and features DeMarco canoeing amidst picturesque shorebirds.

“I think *Guitar* is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper,” DeMarco stated in a press release. “I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able.”

*Guitar* marks DeMarco’s first guitar-and-vocals studio album since 2019’s *Here Comes the Cowboy*, following his prolific 2023 output of the 199-track compilation *One Wayne G* and the instrumental LP *Five Easy Hot Dogs*.
