**Mac DeMarco Announces Japan Tour, New Album ‘Guitar’**

**TOKYO, JAPAN – June 26, 2025** – Canadian indie-rock sensation Mac DeMarco is set to return to Japan in February 2026 for a highly anticipated tour. The five-city tour will bring DeMarco’s signature sound to Fukuoka, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Tokyo, marking his first performances in Japan since his acclaimed set at the 2018 FUJIROCK FESTIVAL.

The tour follows the wave of popularity generated by his 2017 album, “This Old Dog,” which resonated strongly with Japanese audiences. Fans can secure their spots early through a first-come, first-served pre-sale running from now until July 6th. Tickets are priced at ¥8,500 (plus a drink fee) and will be available in paper and electronic formats.

Adding to the excitement, DeMarco has also announced the upcoming release of his new studio album, “Guitar,” slated for release on August 22, 2025. This marks his first album in nearly six years.

“Guitar” was recorded in Los Angeles in November 2024 and mastered by David Ives. DeMarco himself handled the mixing in Canada, adding a personal touch to the project. He also took creative control of the music videos and album artwork, utilizing a tripod for a unique visual approach.

“This album is where I’m at right now,” DeMarco said in a statement. “It’s a collection of my thoughts and feelings that I’ve carefully written down. I’m really excited to share it with everyone and to play these songs live.”

A brand new single, “Home,” released June 24th, offers a taste of what’s to come. The song, inspired by the concept of “what is home,” was written while DeMarco was residing in Los Angeles. The accompanying music video features footage from a canoe trip near his mother’s new home in Canada, adding a layer of personal significance to the track.
