Thu Jun 26 15:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Pegula Breaks from Wimbledon Tradition, Opts for Solitary Hotel Stay

**London, UK** – World No. 3 Jessica Pegula is taking a unique approach to her Wimbledon campaign, opting to stay in a private hotel rather than the official tournament accommodation. The American tennis star, daughter of billionaire sports moguls Terry and Kim Pegula, believes that her carefully chosen lodgings will provide a critical advantage in her quest for a Grand Slam title.

Pegula, who reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2023 and was a US Open finalist last year, is banking on the change in scenery to help her focus and avoid the mental fatigue she associates with being constantly surrounded by competitors.

“Being away from everyone else is a massive thing for me,” Pegula explained. “When you’re staying at a tournament hotel, I feel like it’s so mentally draining. It’s not like anyone is a problem, but you’re seeing the same people you compete with every week, all day, every day.”

The 30-year-old, who has carved out a successful career with eight singles and seven doubles titles on the WTA Tour, emphasized the importance of a comfortable environment. “We’re either on the court, or we’re in the hotel room,” she said. “It’s such a big part of our lives, and as I’ve gotten older, a good hotel has become more of a priority.”

Pegula previously employed a similar strategy at the French Open, residing near the Champs-Elysees. While her run ended in the fourth round, she remains convinced that the increased personal space and relaxation will be instrumental in her performance at Wimbledon.
