**Pullman, WA** – A DoorDash driver, slated to potentially be a key witness in the Bryan Kohberger murder trial, repeatedly claimed she saw him near the scene of the Idaho student killings the night they occurred. The claims surfaced in police footage from a September 2024 DUI arrest obtained by ABC News.
Kohberger is accused of fatally stabbing four University of Idaho students – Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin – in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13, 2022. He faces four counts of first-degree murder and a burglary charge.
The footage shows the woman, pulled over for expired registration and later arrested for DUI, telling officers multiple times that she is the DoorDash driver who delivered food to Kernodle shortly before the murders. She stated, “I’m the DoorDash driver, I saw Bryan there. I parked next to him.” She repeated the claim to three different officers while in custody.
Prosecutors have indicated their intent to use Kernodle’s DoorDash order to establish a timeline and corroborate witness testimony. The driver’s testimony could be crucial as the case against Kohberger is largely circumstantial. His defense maintains his innocence, stating he was driving alone the night of the murders.
The woman’s DUI charge was later amended to first-degree negligent driving and she pleaded guilty. Jury selection for the trial is scheduled to begin August 4 in Boise, Idaho, with opening arguments set for August 11.
