**Kasaragod, Kerala – June 26, 2025** – Two men have been arrested in Bekal, Kasaragod, after allegedly harassing a young female vlogger at a homestay in Kapil near Uduma. The incident, which occurred late Monday night, involved the men, identified as Mohammed Irshad (28) and N.S Abdullah (30), allegedly attempting to break into the woman’s room while under the influence of alcohol.
The victim, who is from Wayanad, was staying at the homestay to create a promotional video when the alleged harassment began. According to her account, the trouble started after she retired to her room and received repeated calls from an unknown number. Upon blocking the number, someone began violently banging on her door, attempting to force entry.
The vlogger stated that she contacted the homestay owner and reception for assistance but received no help. Consequently, she contacted the police through the 112 emergency helpline.
Bekal police, led by Inspector K.P. Shine, responded to the scene and arrested Irshad and Abdullah.
In a video statement released online, the victim claims to have never met the men before. She identified them by calling the blocked number after police intervention. She further alleges that the men checked into the homestay late at 11:35 p.m. and that a female receptionist shared her phone number with them, claiming they were her friends. She also reported being subjected to verbal abuse in obscene language and suspects the homestay owner may have been involved.
Police have registered a case and are currently conducting further investigations into the incident. The investigation will look into all the accusations that were made by the woman, including the alleged involvement of the homestay owner.
