Wed Jun 25 18:31:58 UTC 2025: ## Ceasefire Achieved After Tense Exchange Between Iran, US, and Israel, Thanks to Qatari Diplomacy
**Doha, Qatar** – A fragile ceasefire has been brokered between Iran and Israel following a tense exchange involving the United States, averted a potentially catastrophic regional escalation. The breakthrough came after Iran launched missiles towards a US airbase in Qatar, an attack that, surprisingly, paved the way for diplomacy.
The conflict began with escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, culminating in a US intervention that saw strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran retaliated on Monday evening by firing missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a neutral nation, raising alarms across the region.
However, rather than triggering further retaliation, the attack appears to have been a calculated move that allowed diplomatic channels to open. It has been revealed that Iran provided advance notice of the strike, allowing for the evacuation of personnel and the deployment of defenses. Qatari air defenses intercepted 13 missiles, and the attack caused minimal damage.
Former US President Donald Trump, who announced the ceasefire, credited Iran for the early warning and thanked the Emir of Qatar for his crucial role in facilitating peace. “Israel & Iran came to me, almost simultaneously, and said, ‘PEACE!’” Trump wrote on his social media platform.
Qatar’s involvement was pivotal. As a close ally of the US, hosting its largest airbase in the Middle East, and maintaining strong ties with Iran, Qatar was uniquely positioned to mediate. Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani confirmed that Qatar “undertook significant diplomatic efforts with regional and international partners to defuse tensions.”
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also telephoned the Qatari emir to express “regret” over the attack the previous day.
Experts believe that Qatar’s intervention not only prevented further bloodshed but also averted a potential economic and ecological disaster in the region, where oil and gas infrastructure are vulnerable to attack. Some are even suggesting that Qatar be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
