Thu Jun 26 14:10:00 UTC 2025: **Fake Disability Certificates Used to Illegally Obtain Government Jobs: Investigation Underway in Chandigarh**

**Chandigarh:** A disturbing trend has emerged in Haryana and surrounding states, where individuals are allegedly acquiring fake disability certificates to gain undue advantage in Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examinations and secure government jobs. An investigation has been launched after thirteen candidates were found to have submitted fraudulent documents under the RPWD (Divyang) category.

Of the thirteen accused, eight are reportedly from Haryana, with others hailing from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat. Document verification revealed discrepancies: not only were the candidates not disabled, but they also had no verifiable connection to the regions from where their certificates were issued.

The SSC has blacklisted the thirteen candidates for three years and filed a formal complaint. The High Court has taken suo moto cognizance of the matter.

A case has been registered at the Sector-3 police station in Chandigarh under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), and 471 (using forged documents as genuine).

The accused from Haryana include: Satnam (Rohtak), Sahil (Sonipat), Vijay Kumar (Sonipat), Nishu (Rohtak), Devender (Sonipat), More Renu Devi (Sirsa). The remaining candidates are from Delhi, Patna, Varanasi and Ahmadabad.

Authorities are now investigating the network of individuals involved in producing these fake certificates, including doctors, officials, and brokers. The High Court has directed strict legal action against not only the candidates but also any officials involved in the creation of these fraudulent documents.

The incident has sparked outrage and calls for stricter verification processes, including mandatory physical verification of disability certificates. Officials emphasize the need for aspiring job seekers to recognize that genuine hard work and integrity are the keys to success, not fabricated documents.
