Thu Jun 26 12:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Buccaneers Secure Future with Contract Extensions for Bowles and Licht

**Tampa, FL -** The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Thursday that Head Coach Todd Bowles and General Manager Jason Licht have signed multiyear contract extensions, solidifying the team’s leadership structure for the foreseeable future. While former coach Jon Gruden unveiled the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ schedule for the 2025 NFL season, the announcement highlights the Buccaneers’ commitment to long-term stability and continued success.

Buccaneers owner/co-chairman Joel Glazer praised the duo, stating, “Jason and Todd’s leadership has been critical to our organization’s success. The winning culture they have established has us well positioned for the future. The continuity and stability they provide will play a large role in our ability to compete for additional championships.”

Sources confirm that Bowles’ extension runs through the 2028 season. He has led the Buccaneers to three consecutive NFC South titles (2022-2024) and boasts a 27-24 record in his three seasons as head coach.

“I am excited to continue working with Jason for years to come as we build on the success we’ve enjoyed and keep reaching for even bigger and better goals,” Bowles stated. “My family loves Tampa and we’re looking forward to delivering more great moments for our fans in the coming seasons.”

Licht, now entering his 12th season with the Buccaneers, is the NFL’s fifth-longest tenured traditional general manager. During his tenure, the Buccaneers won Super Bowl LV and have drafted a core of talented players including Mike Evans, Tristan Wirfs, Vita Vea, and Antoine Winfield Jr. The team also leads the NFL in total snaps and starts by homegrown players drafted in Rounds 1-5 since 2014.

“I am very grateful to the Glazer Family for the trust and belief they have shown in what we are doing here,” Licht said. “I am also very excited to continue working alongside Todd well into the future as we continue our mission of finding and developing talented players and chasing additional championships for our fans.”

Bowles’ influence extends beyond head coaching. Under his guidance as defensive coordinator, the Buccaneers’ defense has consistently ranked among the league’s best since 2019, leading the NFL in rushing defense and opponent yards per carry. While the Buccaneers fell short of their ultimate goal last season, losing in the NFC Wild Card game, the extensions demonstrate the team’s confidence in Bowles and Licht’s ability to build a championship-caliber team.
