**Atlanta, GA** – “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams is speaking out about her divorce from Simon Guobadia, finalized on June 11th after a whirlwind romance and a contentious legal battle. In an exclusive interview, Williams revealed she filed for divorce “out of necessity” to protect herself, following unsettling discoveries about Guobadia’s legal status and past.

Williams and Guobadia’s relationship unfolded quickly, with the couple going public in 2021 and marrying in lavish ceremonies in November 2022. Williams admitted she felt secure with Guobadia, especially after he had emphasized personal growth from his past. However, that security was shattered as she realized his legal status was “headed down a dark road.”

The divorce proceedings became even more complex after Guobadia was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in February. Guobadia, however, plans to appeal the ruling, stating the matter is “far from over.”

Williams is now focusing on rebuilding her life, leaning on family and friends, and diving back into her career, including her return to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and her various business ventures.
